Hi there,
I’m Cat

Thanks for taking
a minute to learn
a bit about me.

1st thing to know:

I want to make the world a better place for all of us

I have deep respect for this earth and the people, plants and creatures who inhabit it. It’s my sincere hope that my work will ultimately have a positive impact on this planet and humanity. So this is my “hummingbird part”, my small contribution to making this world just a little bit better for the generations yet to come.

With that said, I’m seeking clients who share this desire. People who are creating businesses or projects that focus on service, creative expression, the healing arts, environmental education, transformation, or humanitarian entrepreneurship. If this is you, please get in touch! If this is not you, but you think we’d be a good fit, I hope you’ll reach out anyways so we can find out.

2nd thing to know:

I have diverse design experience

I’ve been designing since childhood, and then I went to college and received some formal design education while studying Landscape Architecture. And, probably most importantly, I have years of experience designing, creating, and tinkering with design software.

Since graduating from college, about a decade ago, my path has meandered quite a bit, but graphic design has remained a consistent thread weaving through most of my work experience, my personal life, and sometimes even my social life.

3rd thing to know:

I’m an intuitive designer

I don’t like rules and I don’t follow formulas. (Unless they are mathematical—I love math!) I design with the patterns of the times and my clients’ needs (and my clients’ clients’ needs) in mind and at heart. Sometimes designs come quickly and easily, and other times they come in a longer, roundabout way. That’s just the way it goes…

I’ve also been a reluctant designer…

For years, I was one foot in, one foot out when it came to designing professionally. It mostly comes down to my love-hate relationship with screen time. But I see that this is how I can be of greatest service right now, and I’ve learned to balance screen time with lots of forest time.

The reality is, I love designing. It makes me come alive. So I’m excited to have jumped back into design world and offer my skills to more people.

some more about me:

  • I grew up on a farm outside of Athens, GA. My parents grew trees, and in my early childhood, we lived with cats, dogs, ducks, chickens, and goats.

  • I now live in the Sierra Nevada mountains, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe with my awesome partner Joe. I spend a lot of my free time exploring known and unknown landscapes, both near and far.

  • My favorite foods are cucumbers, blueberries and pecans. And ripe avocados—they have to be ripe though, they really aren’t that tasty when they aren’t ripe…

That’s all for now. Something you want to know? Just ask.
